This is a common question for new and existing importers. When storing pallets into shipping containers there are some fundamentals that must be taken into consideration.
1. Identify the type of pallets, as there are 2 types which are the most used, the standard pallet or the euro pallet and each pallet will vary in dimensions.
2. It is important to identify the size of the shipping container, either a 20 FCL or 40 FCL. (Full Container Load)
When storing your pallets, they should be packed tightly into your shipping container. Depending on the pallet and size, the number of pallets you will be able to load into a 20 FCL or 40 FCL will also vary.
The internal dimensions for both a 20 FCL and 40 FCL are as follows:
20 FCL: Inside Cubic Capacity 33 cubic meters
20 FCL: Total Gross Weight 24,000 Kg
40 FCL: Inside Cubic Capacity 67 cubic meters
40 FCL: Total Gross Weight 30,480 Kgs

– Euro: 1200 x 800 mm
– Australian : 1165 x 1165 mm

EURO PALLET
‘Most commonly used in Europe, Latin America, UK , India and New Zealand . The Euro pallet comes in a different sizes and name , EURO 1, EURO 2, EURO 3 and EURO 6 are the most common
